The NHS has just turned 70 and remains a cherished part of British life. Our GPs and hospitals are there for us when we fall ill and we’re used to not having to pay for the treatment we receive.
But, beyond the cost of medicines we pay for, what does it cost the NHS to look after us? From the cost of a GP appointment to price of an X-ray, blood test or a major operation, we took a look at the money needed to take care of us all.
