Why do I need this medicine?
Vardenafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) in men.

Vardenafil will aid in an erection only if you are sexually stimulated.

How do I take this medicine?
Take Vardenafil exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not take more than instructed by your doctor.

Do not take Vardenafil more than once a day.

Vardenafil should be taken 1 hour before your planned sexual activity. Swallow the tablet whole with some water.

You may take Vardenafil with or without food. Try not to take it with a high fat meal as this may delay the effect of Vardenafil.

When should I not use this medicine?
Alert your doctor immediately if you are taking any heart medicines, especially those known as "nitrates" or "nitrites".

Do not take Vardenafil if you are taking heart medicines known as "nitrates" or "nitrites".

Nitrates and nitrites are often used to treat angina (chest pain). They may be available as tablets, ointments, patches or sprays.

If you are not sure if your medicine belongs to the "nitrate" or "nitrite" group, ask your doctor.

Alert your doctor if you are taking any street drugs, such as amyl nitrite or amyl nitrate.

Do not take Vardenafil together with other treatments for erectile dysfunction.

Vardenafil is not meant to be used by women.

Do not take Vardenafil with antifungal medicines such as itraconazole or ketoconazole if you are more than 75 years old.

Do not take Vardenafil with antiviral medicines such as ritonavir or indinavir.

What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Alert your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart disease, low or high blood pressure or if you ever had a stroke.

Alert your doctor if you have diabetes, blood disorders, blood cancers, blood clotting disorders, stomach ulcers, eyesight problems or eye disease, a deformed or diseased penis.

Vardenafil does not protect you or your partner from sexually transmitted diseases (STD). You should use appropriate protection or birth control.

What side effects could I experience?
Vardenafil may cause dizziness and blurred vision. If you feel dizzy or if your eyesight is affected, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert. Your night vision may not be as sharp as it used to be.

Vardenafil also commonly causes headache, flushing of the face, indigestion, nausea, muscle ache, back pain and a blocked nose.

Alert your doctor immediately if you experience loss of vision, any changes in your vision, or a blue tinge to your vision.

Alert your doctor immediately if you have a sudden loss of hearing, ringing in the ears or an erection that lasts for more than 4 hours.

If you experience chest pain during sexual activity, stop all sexual activity and seek medical attention immediately.

Do not take "nitrates" or "nitrites" to relieve your chest pain. "Nitrates" and "nitrites" must never be taken with Vardenafil.

Can I take this with other medicines?
Do not take Vardenafil if you are taking medicines known as "nitrates" or nitrites. Nitrates are used to treat angina (chest pain) and is available as tablets, ointments, patches and sprays.

- medicines for high blood pressure such as doxazosin
- medicines for abnormal heartbeat such as sotalol, procainamide or amiodarone
- antifungals such as itraconazole or ketoconazole
- antibiotics such as erythromycin, clarithromycin or doxycycline

Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.

Are there any restrictions on the type of food I can take?
Avoid alcohol and grapefruit juice.

Try not to take Vardenafil with a high fat meal as this may delay the effect of Vardenafil.

How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
