Why do I need this medicine?
Oxybutynin is used to treat urination problems such as passing urine too frequently, leaking urine, an inability to control or "hold" urination or an urgent need to pass urine.

Urination problems such as these are often due to an overactive bladder. Oxybutynin helps to reduce the number of toilet visits and the urge to urinate. It also helps the bladder to hold urine better.

How do I take this medicine?
Take Oxybutynin exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.

You may need to take Oxybutynin for some time before the full benefits can be felt. Continue to take Oxybutynin even when you feel better and do not stop taking it unless advised by your doctor to do so.

Oxybutynin may be taken with or without food. Tablets or capsules must be swallowed whole. Do not crush, chew or cut the tablet or capsule.

What should I do if I have forgotten to take this medicine?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.

If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.

Alert your doctor if you suffer from any of these conditions:

Discuss with your doctor if you frequently need to take part in such activities or if you are required to work in a hot environment.

What side effects could I experience?
